ELA Course Description

The goals of the 7th grade level language arts course is for students to learn to identify themes in literature and begin to look at literature critically. Students will expand their writing abilities by learning to write and think critically as they examine the various works of literature. All of the units will be enhanced with a novel that relates to the theme or expands on the genre. During each unit/novel students will participate in discussions, complete a variety of activities, and end each unit/novel with a culminating activity that will show proficiency according to the California State Standards for 7th Grade Language Arts.
